I’m Free to Be Me

A.J. Narconon Graduate

Before I came to Narconon, I remember lying in my bed thinking, “This is the end.” The taste of blood in my mouth, feeling like I was a body of water lying in a desert left for dead. At that point, I really felt the results of my alcoholism collapsing me, taking everything from me.

Yet, I did not accept giving up on myself. I did not accept drying up and disappearing into the existence of “nothing left for me.” I changed my mind.

I knew what to do. I grabbed my phone and typed Narconon in the Google search bar. Clicked on their link. I found the number that was on there and called it. At that moment, I heard someone’s voice speak and knew I had my answer.

I could feel it everywhere in my body. Everything was going to change for the better now. All because I decided to make that call, and someone answered that call. I knew in my heart if I reached out my hand, I could ask for help even though I knew anybody could just say no.

This reminded me that love is real and hope is alive when I am weak. I have strength in believing in others. Now, thanks to Narconon, I am able to stand upright on my feet, strong-willed and ready to confront my past, my present, and my future with the tools and knowledge Narconon has offered me. My life has completely changed for the better with purpose and intention. I feel happy. I feel confident and comfortable in my skin, sober and clean.

“I feel free to be myself, living my life the way I want to live it without drugs and alcohol trying to chain me down and trap me into believing my life isn’t worth my own time.”

I feel brand new. I feel like I am truly shining through, becoming brighter and brighter. I feel free to be myself, living my life the way I want to live it without drugs and alcohol trying to chain me down and trap me into believing my life isn’t worth my own time. If I had something to say to anyone who feels that there is no hope of a better life, I would say, take the leap of faith. Let everything go, reach out your hand, and put your trust in people. Make the first move and make that call for help in any way you can. Believe in others and let them believe in you.

Narconon has proven to me that this program is the answer because it offers realistic steps from the start to the end. The program offers the tools and knowledge one needs to apply to live a better, more successful life. A life where you can take back control and no longer let drugs and alcohol control your life. I am thankful and blessed.
